Stayly ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our App. By using Stayly, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

2. Information We Collect

Account Information:

• Email address (used for authentication)
• Full name (optional, as provided)

Trip and Travel Data (provided by you):

• Departure and return dates for international trips
• Trip notes (optional)
• Green card activation date and naturalization goal settings

Usage Data:

• App interactions for improving the service (no personal identifiers attached)
• Device type and operating system (for compatibility)

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your data exclusively to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain the App's core features
• Calculate and display your residency and travel metrics
• Sync your data across your devices
• Send account-related notifications (e.g., password resets)
• Improve and debug the App

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit (TLS/HTTPS). We use reputable cloud infrastructure providers with strong security certifications. Access to user data is restricted to authorized personnel only.

While we implement strong security measures, no method of internet transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

• Service providers: Trusted infrastructure partners (hosting, authentication) who process data solely to deliver our service and are bound by data processing agreements.
• Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Stayly or others.
• Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred. We will notify you before that occurs.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: Request a copy of your personal data
• Correction: Update or correct inaccurate data
• Deletion: Delete your account and all associated data through Settings → Delete Account
• Portability: Export your trip data as a CSV at any time from the app menu
• Opt-out: Opt out of non-essential communications

7. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all your personal data and trip records are permanently deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

Stayly is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn we have collected data from a child under 18, we will delete it promptly.

9. Cookies and Tracking

We use minimal, essential cookies and local storage solely to maintain your session and app preferences (e.g., dark mode). We do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics cookies that identify you personally.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top and, for material changes, by in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
